If you have a life threatening or very serious illness at any time call 999 and ask for an ambulance.
When the surgery is closed you can contact an on-call doctor using the following numbers:
NHS direct - 111
These services are for problems that cannot wait until the next surgery.
We are open 8am to 6.30pm every day, with the exception of Wednesday afternoons when we close at 2.30 and Monday evenings when we are open to 8pm. On Wednesday afternoons you can contact the on call GP by phoning 07983 627995.
If you require help or advice out of hours, then please call NHS direct by dialling 111, except of Wednesday afternoons between 2.30 and 6.30 when you should dial the on-call doctor by phoning 07535719415. You can call NHS 111 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and all calls from landlines and mobiles are free.
You can also visit your local pharmacy when you have a common health problem that does not need you to be seen by a doctor such as runny nose, painful cough and headache. They can give you advice on illnesses and the medicines you can take to treat them.
There is also a local NHS walk in centre where you can be seen from 8am to 8pm every day of the year. This health centre in central Croydon is open every day of the year and includes a GP surgery.
You can walk in to see a doctor or book an appointment. You don’t have to be registered at the centre to see a doctor. The contact details are:
Edridge Road Community Health Centre
2 Edridge Road
Croydon CR9 1PJ
Telephone: 020 3040 0800
Please remember that A&E resources at local hospitals are very stretched and with many conditions people can be more appropriately treated elsewhere. Patients may wait in A&E when it would be easier and more convenient to wait to see your GP or visit a chemist or walk-in centre.
